Consultation on this proposal will follow the guidelines established by the Welsh Government and will involve identified interested parties, including school governors, school staff, parents, pupils, local councillors, community councillors, Estyn, unions, Assembly Member / Regional Assembly Member, neighbouring authorities and other stakeholders as stated in the School Organisation Code (2013).

Why are we consulting?

Due to the increase in demand for Welsh medium education places, the Local Authority propose to increase the capacity of Gorslas Primary School from 110 to 210 which will help the school to accommodate current and future demand for Welsh medium education places. Further information in relation to the proposal and the need for the increase in capacity can be found in the attached consultation document.

Next steps

A consultation report will be produced and published on Carmarthenshire County Council’s website which will summarise the observations submitted by consultees and Carmarthenshire County Council’s response to these observations.
